This Website is a place to show electronic support for the enduring oppertunity of being teached by Jun.-Prof. Ben Sassen at the Media Faculty of the Bauhaus-University Weimar.
The responsible committee at said Media Faculty chose to not propose the renewal of the junior professorship for the next 3-year term. This process is not designed to be transparent, so there are no more publicly known details.
Now, the final decision lies in the hands of the Rektor of the Bauhaus-University, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerd Zimmermann. You can show your support by "liking" Ben in your favorite social network.

He wrote about the situation on the university message board:
I wish to thank all the people who put up messages of support for me on the Pinnwände over the past week, and also all the people who have contacted me by email or in person. Although all of the Pinnwände messages have now been deleted, I am still deeply moved that you would make such an effort to keep me here at the university.
From the many good and bad experiences I have had in Weimar over the past 3 years, the support and energy that you have offered me during this difficult process is certainly an experience that will stay with me for a long time to come.
Unfortunately, your messages and my defence were not enough to stop the media faculty from deciding this week not to offer me a second 3 year contract at the university.
The final decision over my job will now go to the university Rektor. He will review all the evidence collected concerning my work and probably make a decision about my position next week.
